Regulator Testing Procedure

How can I test the unit to determine if it’s working or not? >>>>>>>>>>
If dynamo is putting out power without the regulator, and not with regulator hooked up then you have a regulator problem, not a dynamo problem. Check dynamo output by disconnecting regulator and battery, and putting a jumper lead between D and F terminals on dynamo to have dynamo produce maximum output. Then hook up a voltmeter with negative lead to the D terminal at dynamo, and the positive lead to ground on the bike. You should get well over 8 volts without revving the engine too high, and if you cannot, then you must service the dynamo before considering you have any regulator problems.
