1969 Triumph Bonneville Café Racer

Sold 07/26/2021

Notes taken from Appraiser (June 14, 2021):

Special Features:

The builder was a fan of unique and unusual British cars and motorcycles, finishing and maintaining it for his driving amusement. He acquired the motorcycle specifically to build a café racer on the style of modified British street bikes.

A café racer is a genre of sport motorcycles that originated among British motorcycle enthusiasts of the early 1960s in London. Café racers were standard production bikes that were modified by their owners and optimized for speed and handling for quick rides over short distances. Café racers have since become popular around the world, and some manufacturers produce factory-made models that are available in the showrooms.

Comments:

Engine: The engine is a Bonneville rebuilt to 750cc by an accomplished automotive engineer. The engine has been “driver proven” with a very reliable track record. Kick start.

Frame: The frame is intact with minimal wear and oxidation without rust or corrosion. The exhaust components all appear sound, no surface rust or damage; good clamps and connects. The suspension all appears sound and suitable. In good to very good condition.

Controls: The controls are intact and in good working order. Gauges are clear and functional.

Exterior: The seat and bags are intact and in good condition. The paint and accents are overall very good.

Summary Comments: This is a very attractive, well-constructed example of the popular British Café Racer.
