1950 NORTON MANX WORKS DAYTONA RACER

Sold 01/26/2017

THIS FACTORY RACER IS LOCATED IN SOUTH CAROLINA. ITS PROMINENCE IS VERIFIED BY IN HAND FACTORY RECORDS WHICH ALSO INDICATED IT WAS BUILT FOR THE 1951 DAYTONA EFFORT IN LATE 1950 & SENT TO INDIAN SALES ON 12-19-1950. INDIAN WAS HELPING NORTON SINCE THEY KNEW NORTON WOULD BEAT HARLEY. THE DAYTONA BIKES ARE UNIQUE BECAUSE NORTON WAS NOT ALLOWED TO USE FEATHER BED FRAMES & BIKES WERE REQUIRED TO HAVE KICK START MECHANISMS ON THEM TO RACE. BOTH OF THESE ITEMS ARE CORRECT ON THIS MOTORCYCLE.

A MANX IS A VERY RARE, EXPENSIVE MOTORCYCLE & EVEN MORE SO ON THIS WORKS EFFORT. THIS BIKE WAS REBUILT 15 YEARS AGO BY BENO RODI IN ATLANTA GA. WHILE IN HIS POSSESSION THE BIKE WAS RACED & CARED FOR. HE WILL VERIFY THE BIKE CONDITION AS WELL. IT HAS ONLY BEEN STARTED & RIDDEN A FEW TIMES SINCE THE REBUILD, NEVER RACED. THE MOTOR IS RELATIVELY OIL TIGHT & RUNS WELL. IT DOESNT NEED ANYTHING BUT A NEW OWNER, READY TO RACE OR DISPLAY. IT SPORTS THE PROPER ORIGINAL ALLOY FUEL TANK WITH INTERNAL BAFFLING, SMITHS R95/1 CHRONOMETRIC & RACING (LEFT SIDE FILL FOR DAYTONA) OIL TANK.

ORIGINAL DUNLOP RUBBER SEAT & A FEW EXTRA INCLUDED. SOLD ON BILL OF SALE ONLY. RACE BIKES WERE NEVER TITLED.

I WOULD PREFER ANY PERSPECTIVE BUYERS INSPECT THE BIKE IN PERSON OR HAVE AN AGENT OF THEIR CHOICE DO IT FOR THEM. WIRE TRANSFER OR CASH ONLY FOR PAYMENT

I AM HAPPY TO FACILITATE OVERSEAS SHIPPING BUT THE COST & LOGISTICS ARE FOR THE BUYER TO SORT.

"As early Triumph Bonnevilles hit the $25,000 mark & Vincent twins the $150,000 mark, the Ariel Square four & Norton Manx are the next 6 figure bikes"

PRICE ON INQUIRY. ONLY SERIOUS BUYERS PLEASE
